From the 12th to the 21st of March, the annual Kagyed Drubchen took place in Mindrolling Monastery. The sadhana of the Kagyed Desheg Düpa is a terma discovered by the Tertön Nyang Ral Nyima Özer which was later revived by Chögyal Terdag Lingpa. It is said that just prior to his passing, the founder of Mindrolling said to his disciples not to grieve but to instead realize the truth of impermanence. He further instructed them that if they were endowed with real devotion to him and a genuine wish to benefit beings, they should practice the Kagyed Sadhana each year. Thus, the profound ten-day Mahasadhana of the Eight Herukas has been practiced every year since then to commemorate the passing into parinirvana of the King of Dharma Terdag Lingpa.
As the days unfolded, this precious Drubchen was presided over by Kyabje Trulshik Yangsi Rinpoche, Penam Rinpoche, and Umdze Lodroe Gyaltshen along with many other tulkus, khenpos, and monks.
Minling Dungse Rinpoche blessed the drubchen with his presence on certain days and in particular, Mindrolling monastery was honored and blessed by the visit of Kyabje Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche.
Every evening of this elaborate and profound drubchen, the Minling family, rinpoches, monastics, and lay community members gathered to receive the blessings of the sacred mandala and the evening Taki Cham.
Through unbroken lineage of the peerless master’s instruction, may all the merit arising from this great accomplishment of the Kagyed be the cause of liberation for all sentient beings.
